Annual flea market and ducasse on the Grand Place of Linghem
The annual flea market and ducasse of Linghem takes place on the Grand Place of this village of about 800 inhabitants, located between Aire-sur-la-Lys and Saint-Omer. This event combines the traditional ducasse (communal festival) with a flea market that takes over the village square. A festive and village atmosphere is guaranteed, with fairground rides, refreshments, and food stalls in addition to the flea market stalls.
Linghem, a small rural village in the canton of Aire-sur-la-Lys, perpetuates the tradition of the northern ducasse by combining it with an annual flea market. The Grand Place, dominated by the church and lined with brick houses, is adorned with its finest stalls for this popular festival that brings together the entire neighborhood.
Linghem, a discreet commune in the Lys plain, lives to the rhythm of agriculture and the seasons. Its ducasse-flea market is one of the highlights of the village year, an opportunity for reunions between old and new residents in a warm atmosphere typical of rural Pas-de-Calais.
