The Riez flea market, an ancient city

Riez, a small town of character in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence, regularly hosts a car boot sale and flea market on Place Maxime Javelly and at the Boulodrome. This town with its rich Roman and medieval heritage offers an exceptional setting for bargain hunting, between ancient columns and picturesque streets.

Remarkable heritage

Riez is famous for its four Roman columns, remnants of a 1st-century temple, and its 5th-century Merovingian baptistery. The car boot sale benefits from this unique historical setting and the authentic atmosphere of this small Provençal town nestled in the heart of the Valensole plateau.

Two sales locations

Depending on the edition, stalls are set up on Place Maxime Javelly, in the heart of the village, or at the Boulodrome, a larger area on the outskirts. The Boulodrome hosts editions without vehicles, with a price of 10 euros for 5 meters, while Place Javelly offers pitches for 12 to 15 euros depending on size.

At the gates of the Verdon

Riez is located at the gates of the Verdon gorges and the lake of Sainte-Croix, attracting many visitors in season. The car boot sale takes advantage of this tourist flow to offer its finds to passing bargain hunters as well as to the inhabitants of the Valensole plateau.
