Every Sunday, the P1 parking lot of Roucas-Blanc beach, located on the Promenade Georges Pompidou in the 8th arrondissement of Marseille, hosts a unique seaside car boot sale. Around 80 exhibitors, both individuals and professionals, set up facing the Mediterranean to offer a wide range of second-hand items: clothing, accessories, vintage decorations, toys, books, trinkets, and everyday objects. The organizer, the association Destination Marseille, requires that merchandise be presented on quality tables, thus ensuring a pleasant and well-organized bargain hunting experience.

A unique setting facing the sea

What distinguishes the Roucas-Blanc car boot sale from other Marseille flea markets is undoubtedly its exceptional location. Set up in parking lot P1, in immediate proximity to the Roucas-Blanc nautical base and about fifty meters from the statue of David, the market offers a breathtaking view of the sea. Visitors can combine their morning of bargain hunting with a walk on the Prado beaches, enjoying the Marseille coastline in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. The bright and airy seaside setting adds a special dimension to this outdoor flea market.

Organization and schedule

The market is held every Sunday from 7:30 AM to 4 PM. Exhibitors arrive as early as 7:00 AM to set up their stalls before the public opening. Departure is set for 4:00 PM, by which time the parking lot must be completely cleared. Stall reservations are made by text message only, from 9 AM to 7 PM. The exhibitor fee is 35 euros per car and 50 euros per van. The association Destination Marseille ensures strict compliance with the parking rules imposed by the city, particularly the prohibition of double parking and parking on the bike path.

Access and transport

The P1 parking lot of Roucas-Blanc beach is well served by Marseille public transport. Bus lines 19 and 83 (Roucas-Blanc stop) drop visitors off in the immediate vicinity of the market. From the city center, the Rond-Point du Prado metro station (line M2) allows you to reach the area by connecting with bus lines. For visitors with cars, parking is available in the surrounding streets of the Roucas-Blanc neighborhood and along the Promenade Georges Pompidou.

The Roucas-Blanc beach car boot sale has established itself as a popular Sunday event for residents of southern Marseille and flea market enthusiasts from the entire Bouches-du-Rhône department. Its human scale – about 80 exhibitors – gives it an intimate and warm atmosphere, very different from large industrial car boot sales. Regulars appreciate the opportunity to hunt for bargains in peace in a preserved natural environment, before extending their morning with a walk along the coast or lunch in one of the restaurants in the nearby Pointe-Rouge neighborhood.
