Each year, on the first Sunday of May, the Briare-Jemappes Twinning Committee takes over the Champ de Foire square in Briare-le-Canal for its big car boot sale. This friendly event reflects the spirit of friendship and exchange that has animated the twinning between Briare and Jemappes, Belgium, for decades.

Briare-le-Canal: an exceptional setting

Briare-le-Canal is a commune in the Loiret region, world-renowned for its canal bridge, a masterpiece by Gustave Eiffel that spans the Loire. The Champ de Foire square, in the heart of Briare, offers a generous space to accommodate exhibitors. The car boot sale thus benefits from an ideal location, a stone's throw from the canal and the town's tourist attractions.

Giving objects a second life

The Twinning Committee's car boot sale is open to both individuals and professionals. Everyone can rent a spot for €2.50 per linear meter to offer their second-hand items: clothing, books, toys, tableware, furniture, and other second-hand treasures. The perfect opportunity to declutter your home while participating in a great community initiative.

The Briare-Jemappes (or Mons-Jemappe) Twinning Committee is one of the most dynamic associations in Briare.
