Every year in May, the Comité des Fêtes of Drémil-Lafage takes over the village center to organize a large-scale car boot sale. With around 150 exhibitors, this event is one of the most significant car boot sales in the eastern suburbs of Toulouse, attracting bargain hunters from the entire area between Toulouse, Lauragais, and the Pays de Cocagne.

Drémil-Lafage, a Thriving Village

Drémil-Lafage is a commune of about 3,500 inhabitants located about fifteen kilometers east of Toulouse, on the first hills of Lauragais. This village, with its preserved authentic character, is experiencing sustained demographic growth, reflecting its residential attractiveness. The associative fabric is particularly dynamic, driven by an active Comité des Fêtes that organizes several events throughout the year.

A Well-Organized Spring Car Boot Sale

The organization of the car boot sale is well-established: 4-linear meter pitches are offered at a price of 12 euros, and prior registration is required. The Comité des Fêtes, chaired by Annie Rayssac, coordinates the entire event with the support of a team of volunteers. Fast food on site allows visitors and exhibitors to eat without leaving the premises.

The 150 private stalls offer a variety of items that delight bargain hunters: clothing for the whole family, toys and board games, books and comics, crockery and tableware, small furniture, garden tools, decorative objects, and trinkets of all kinds. The atmosphere is that of a large open-air market where everyone can find their happiness at a low price.

The May car boot sale is one of the highlights of the year in Drémil-Lafage. It brings together the inhabitants of the village and those from neighboring communes—Flourens, Quint-Fonsegrives, Mons, Drémil—in a moment of conviviality and sharing.
