Car boot sale organized by the APE in Montfort-sur-Meu, a small town of character in Brocéliande
The Parents' Association (APE) of Montfort-sur-Meu organizes an annual car boot sale in the heart of this small town of character at the gates of the Brocéliande forest. Families offer clothes, toys, books, childcare items, and various objects. A friendly event that benefits the school projects of Montfort schools.
The APE of Montfort-sur-Meu organizes its annual car boot sale in this dynamic town in western Ille-et-Vilaine. Private sellers offer clothes, toys, books, childcare equipment, small furniture, and various second-hand items. The event attracts families from Montfort and surrounding towns — Bédée, Iffendic, Breteil, Talensac — in a warm and family atmosphere.
Montfort-sur-Meu is a town of about 7,500 inhabitants, the capital of the canton, labeled Petite Cité de Caractère. Built on a rocky outcrop at the confluence of the Meu and Garun rivers, the town preserves remarkable medieval heritage: remains of the castle of the barons of Montfort, the Tour du Papegaut (14th century), half-timbered houses, and the Saint-Louis-Marie-Grignion-de-Montfort church. The town is the gateway to the forest of Brocéliande (Paimpont forest), a place steeped in Arthurian legends. The Ecomuseum of the Pays de Montfort retraces the history and traditions of this area.
The proceeds from the car boot sale are donated to the APE to fund school trips, shows, and educational projects for the schools of Montfort-sur-Meu. A refreshment stand and crêpe stands complete the offering in the purest Breton tradition. Admission is free.
The APE of Montfort-sur-Meu car boot sale returns on March 29, 2026.
