The Maillezais APE flea market

The parents' association runs its annual flea market on Sunday 26 April 2026. A spring event drawing locals and nearby bargain hunters, charmed by the village's atmosphere. Proceeds go entirely to the school for outings, materials and projects.

Private vendors lay out clothes, toys, tableware, bibelots, books and small furniture. Family feel, enhanced by proximity to the Saint-Pierre Abbey of Maillezais, a Marais poitevin heritage gem.

A village of around 1,000 in the Vendée Marais poitevin, famed for its 10th-century Saint-Pierre Abbey. The partly ruined site overlooks the marsh with stunning views of the "Green Venice". A prime departure point for canal boat trips.

A solidarity event

Like all APE events, proceeds fund projects directly benefiting children. Volunteer parents run logistics, bar and food — showing the drive of the local school community.
