The great spring bargain hunt on the banks of the Seine
In the charming riverside commune of Ablon-sur-Seine, the annual garage sale is one of the highlights of local life. Every spring, Place d'Europe fills with colourful stalls as private sellers clear out their attics and cellars. The event is organised by Penichost Organisation, a recognised specialist in flea market events in Val-de-Marne.
With 100 to 200 vendors, the sale offers a remarkable selection in a human-scale setting. Every vendor is a local private seller offering their own belongings: clothing, toys, books, vinyl records, crockery, tools, light furniture and all kinds of curiosities. Only private sellers are admitted, in keeping with the authentic spirit of the traditional French vide-grenier.
