The winter flea market of Guéméssé school
La Gaubretière's Guéméssé school PTA holds its indoor winter flea market each year for school fundraising. 2026 edition expected in February or March. La Gaubretière, Haut-Bocage commune near Mortagne-sur-Sèvre and Puy du Fou.
La Gaubretière is a Haut-Bocage commune of nearly 2,700 inhabitants, near Mortagne-sur-Sèvre and 15 minutes from Puy du Fou. The Guéméssé School PTA holds an annual winter flea market to fund educational projects. A traditional rendezvous in the local associative calendar.
Unlike summer outdoor markets, this one takes place indoors, which allows winter scheduling, traditionally early year. This seasonality attracts a different audience: bocage residents seeking post-holiday bargains when markets are rarer.
Guéméssé is La Gaubretière's public school. Its very active PTA organises several events per year to fund school trips, teaching materials and class projects.
Dynamic local economy with several industrial and artisan businesses. Heritage: Saint-Georges church and traditional farms. Bocage landscape of hedges, woods and valleys crossed by the Sèvre Nantaise.
Mortagne-sur-Sèvre old town, Puy du Fou (April-September), Les Épesses, Saint-Laurent-sur-Sèvre and its basilicas.
