The car boot sale of July 14th in La Roche-de-Rame is a summer event in the heart of the upper Durance valley. A 3-meter pitch is available for 10 euros. From 8 am to 5:30 pm, bargain hunters enjoy the alpine setting of this village located between L'Argentière-la-Bessée and Mont-Dauphin, at the foot of the Écrins massif. A second edition is held in mid-August for the Saint-Laurent festival.
Every July 14th, the village of La Roche-de-Rame hosts a car boot sale in its streets, offering visitors and holidaymakers a festive day of bargain hunting in the upper Durance valley. The event is part of the July 14th festivities and attracts bargain hunters from the Briançonnais and Embrunais regions.
Located in the upper Durance valley, between L'Argentière-la-Bessée and Mont-Dauphin, La Roche-de-Rame is an authentic alpine village at an altitude of about 900 meters. The commune offers privileged access to the Écrins and Queyras massifs and benefits from remarkable sunshine. The ruins of the medieval castle, the Saint-Laurent church, and the preserved natural setting bear witness to the rich heritage of this mountain village.
Exhibitors offer a wide range of second-hand items: old tableware, trinkets, frames and mirrors, books and magazines, toys, clothes, small appliances, tools, sports equipment, vinyl records and CDs, home linen, and decorative objects. In the Hautes-Alpes, you can also regularly find typical mountain objects: old agricultural tools, cowbells, Savoyard furniture, vintage skis, snowshoes, and hiking equipment. Prices, generally very attractive, make these car boot sales an economical and ecological alternative to buying new.
The Hautes-Alpes department, the least populated in metropolitan France, compensates for its low density with a particularly dynamic associative life. From March to October, car boot sales and flea markets punctuate the life of alpine villages, offering as many opportunities to hunt for bargains as to get together with neighbors. The summer season, with the influx of tourists and holidaymakers, multiplies the opportunities: passing visitors readily stop to rummage through stalls, sometimes discovering unsuspected alpine treasures. The exceptional mountain setting of the department adds a unique dimension to these events, between grandiose panoramas and the pure air of the peaks.
In addition to the July 14th car boot sale, La Roche-de-Rame organizes a second edition in mid-August for the Saint-Laurent festival, the patron saint of the parish. Both events offer moments of bargain hunting and conviviality in an exceptional mountain setting.
