The weekly rendezvous of the European antique-dealers' capital
Every Sunday from 9 am to 6 pm, Avenue des 4 Otages hosts L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue's permanent brocante market. Dozens of professional antique dealers set up their pieces along the Sorgue, at the foot of the water wheels. A weekly institution and integral part of the 3rd European antiques capital, after London and Saint-Ouen.
Every Sunday, from 9 am to 6 pm, L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue vibrates to the rhythm of its permanent brocante market. On Avenue des 4 Otages, professional antique dealers set up their stands under the plane trees, beside the canals where the 14 listed water wheels turn.
Unlike a flea market, this brocante market hosts almost exclusively professionals: established antique dealers, specialist brocanteurs and gallery owners. The range is broad: Provençal furniture, 17th-19th century European furniture, 20th-century design, paintings, engravings, sculptures, bronzes, silverware, porcelain and faience, antique lighting, clocks, period jewellery, antique books and curiosities.
L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue is Europe's third art and antiques market hub, just behind London and Saint-Ouen. The town counts over 250 permanent antique dealers across fifteen antique villages. The Sunday market complements this permanent offer.
Avenue des 4 Otages runs along the branches of the Sorgue. The stands line up under century-old plane trees, steps from the slowly turning water wheels.
The Sunday crowd mixes Provence residents, Vaucluse and Comtat enthusiasts, Paris collectors and foreign tourists (British, Dutch, Belgian, Italian, American).
In 2026, the permanent brocante market of L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue continues its Sunday rendezvous on Avenue des 4 Otages, 9 am to 6 pm year-round. Dozens of professional antique dealers display pieces along the Sorgue canals every week, in one of the most emblematic settings of the European art market. Two major International Fairs (Easter and 15 August) complete the programme.
Every Sunday, 9 am to 6 pm, year-round.
