Moutiers-les-Mauxfaits is a small town of about 2,300 in southern Vendée, 20 min from Les Sables-d'Olonne and Luçon. Known for its 15th-century covered market (one of Vendée's finest), its built heritage and dynamic community. An authentic village where popular-event traditions live on.

The Flea Market, run by Moutiers Animation Patrimoine, is a must of Vendée summer. 250 exhibitors take over the centre for a day — one of southern Vendée's biggest hunting events. 2026 edition Saturday 8 August 2026, 8am-6pm, Avenue Georges Clemenceau.

A large-scale event

250 exhibitors, an entire street closed to traffic for public safety, all-day entertainment, bar and food on site: Moutiers-les-Mauxfaits plays in the big league of Vendée flea markets. Each summer thousands come from across the region and the nearby coast, where holidaymakers hunt before or after the beach.

15th-century halles and heritage

Visit the famous Moutiers-les-Mauxfaits covered market, listed Monument Historique. These 15th-century halles with oak timbering are among Vendée's finest. Saint-Jacques church and old houses complete the heritage picture.

Moutiers Animation Patrimoine is a dynamic local association and this is their flagship event. Well-tuned logistics: marked pitches, facilities, side events (sometimes horse fair follows), reinforced safety with street closures.
