Annual jumble sale organized by the Légny school parents' association, a village in the Pays des Pierres Dorées
Every year, the Légny School Association organizes its annual jumble sale, one of the most eagerly awaited events in this village in the Pays des Pierres Dorées. On May 8th, a public holiday, private sellers set up to offer clothes, toys, books, trinkets and all kinds of objects at very accessible prices. The event brings together village residents and visitors from neighbouring communes in a warm and family-friendly atmosphere. Funds raised help the association finance educational outings and cultural projects for the school.
Légny is a village of around 1,000 inhabitants in the Pays des Pierres Dorées, northern Beaujolais, about thirty kilometers northwest of Lyon. This region takes its name from the warm golden colour of the local limestone used to build the houses, châteaux and chapels that dot the landscape. Légny is surrounded by vineyards and the characteristic hills of the Beaujolais, with open panoramas over the Azergues valley and surrounding heights. The village is part of the Pays d'Arbresle community of communes and contributes to the tourist appeal of this beautiful natural region.
Légny is located about 30 km northwest of Lyon, accessible via the D485 from L'Arbresle or the D338 from Anse. Village parking available.
