An iconic flea market on the Hyères coast

The La Capte flea market is a fixture of Var bargain hunting. Set in the La Capte pine forest, avenue de la Pinède, Hyères, it enjoys an exceptional seaside setting under umbrella pines. Organised by the Commerce Service of the City of Hyères, it follows a strict schedule: 1st and 3rd Sundays each month from October to May, with a summer break in June-September.

The 4 January 2026 edition opens the year in the gentle Mediterranean winter.

A structured, regulated format

About 100 stalls at 10 euros per 5 linear metres. Private sellers only (dealers excluded), ID front and back copies plus proof of residence required. Max two participations a year per seller, under French second-hand sale rules. Official hours: 7.30am-1pm, set-up from 6.30am.

On the Giens peninsula linking Hyères to the island of Porquerolles, La Capte is known for sandy beaches and a classified pine forest. Easy to extend the morning with a beach walk or a visit to the Hyères salt flats.

Practical tips

Arrive early for the widest choice. Winter weather is generally mild but bring a jacket for the morning sea breeze. Free parking around the pine forest.
