Car boot sale organised by the Friends of JSA in Givors, at the confluence of the Rhône and Gier
The JSA Friends Car Boot Sale is organised by the Friends of the Jeunesse Sportive d'Anjou (JSA), a local sports association rooted in the life of Givors. This car boot sale is one of the main fundraising events for the association, helping to finance sports section activities and youth programmes. Private sellers and exhibitors offer adult and children's clothing, toys, books, records, knick-knacks, small furniture and various items. The atmosphere is lively and friendly, typical of sporting and community events in the region. All proceeds from the day go directly to benefit JSA activities and its young members.
Givors is a city of around 20,000 inhabitants in the Rhône valley, at the confluence of the river and the Gier, about twenty kilometres south of Lyon. A former industrial city, Givors flourished thanks to glassmaking, chemicals and mechanical engineering. The city is crossed by the Rhône and enjoys varied landscapes between river and hills. It has a TER railway station and quick access to Lyon via the A7 motorway. Its community life, of which the JSA is a pillar, is particularly rich and contributes to social cohesion in the area.
Givors is accessible from Lyon via the A7 motorway (Givors exit) or by TER train from Lyon Perrache station (approximately 20 minutes). Givors-Ville station is in the town centre.
