The Comice agricole of Lanouaille: a legendary fair of Périgord Vert

Every autumn, the village of Lanouaille hosts its Comice agricole, an agricultural day accompanied by a car boot sale that perpetuates a centuries-old tradition in Périgord Vert. This major event brings together breeders, producers, artisans, and bargain hunters around a program rich in entertainment and Périgord traditions.

Cattle competitions and agricultural traditions

From 9 am, the comice offers a departmental and interdepartmental competition of Limousin cattle with ring presentation, as well as an exhibition of all animal breeds. Miniature and Friesian horses complete this animal section. At midday, the traditional Banquet Bugeaud, named after the marshal native to the region, brings guests together for a meal prepared by a local caterer.

Car boot sale, fair and entertainment

All day long, a car boot sale livens up the village streets, alongside a fair offering chestnuts, walnuts, apples, wine and cider making. Street entertainment, Occitan folklore, and an exhibition at the town hall complete the program. This day is a true concentrate of the agricultural and gastronomic traditions of Périgord.
