The parents' association car boot sale in the heart of the medieval Gatine city
The Jacques Prevert PTA car boot sale brings together Parthenay families every year for a friendly event organised to benefit the school's pupils. Private sellers display clothing, toys, books, and everyday items in a warm atmosphere, in the heart of Parthenay, a medieval town labelled City of Art and History. A wonderful opportunity to browse while supporting school projects for local children.
Every spring, the Parents' Association of the Jacques Prevert school in Parthenay organises its annual car boot sale. This community event, driven by motivated volunteers, aims to fund school trips, educational projects, and cultural activities for the school's children.
The car boot sale welcomes exclusively private exhibitors who come to empty their attics, cellars, and wardrobes. You'll find a wide range of items: children's and adults' clothing, toys, board games, books, DVDs, small appliances, crockery, decorations, and many other everyday treasures.
Parthenay, a sub-prefecture of Deux-Sevres, is an exceptional medieval city perched above the Thouet. Labelled City of Art and History, it is famous for its fortifications and its Porte Saint-Jacques, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site on the Way of St. James.
The Jacques Prevert PTA plays an essential role in school life. By organising this car boot sale, it funds projects that enrich children's educational journeys.
The Jacques Prevert PTA car boot sale returns to Parthenay on May 3, 2026. Private exhibitors, free admission, proceeds go to school projects.
