Two summer antique markets in the Vienne town
A commune of about 1,200 inhabitants in southern Vienne, on the Limousin border. The village sits by the Vienne river on a former "isle", giving its picturesque character. Inhabited since the Middle Ages with medieval castle ruins, a Romanesque bridge and a fine church. The Vienne valley, lake and wooded landscape make it a popular destination.
Two markets in 2026: Saturday 13 June and Saturday 11 July. Testimony to local commercial energy: a recurring rendezvous attracting hunters, summer walkers and curious visitors.
Hunters can return: pieces change between sessions, new sellers may join, and 11 July draws holidaymakers. The 13 June is spring-fresh, ideal for morning hunts. The 11 July is peak summer, combinable with a lake swim or riverside walk.
Medieval castle ruins overlook the Vienne, the Romanesque bridge (listed) crosses the river, Saint-Gervais-Saint-Protais church shows Poitou Romanesque art. The reservoir lake is a popular summer spot for swimming and watersports.
