The annual fair in the rural village of Gressey in the Yvelines
Gressey is one of those very small rural communes that make up the discreet charm of the Yvelines: about 580 inhabitants, a church, a town hall, a few farms and old houses huddled around Place de la Mairie. It's precisely on this central square, at number 3, that the annual fair organized by the festival committee takes place every year.
What people come looking for in Gressey is exactly what major urban flea markets can no longer offer: the peaceful atmosphere of a village celebration, where exhibitors take time to chat, where bargain hunters stroll without pressure, where children run between stalls.
Located in western Yvelines, near Houdan and Rambouillet forest, Gressey is a rural village that has kept its agricultural character and tranquility.
As is often the case in rural villages, the Gressey fair is organized by the festival committee, a volunteer association whose members handle the event's preparation.
Gressey's fair is for all flea market lovers who prefer small village events over major urban ones.
