Every first Sunday of June, the Chagnolet neighborhood in Dompierre-sur-Mer comes alive with the Green Car Boot Sale, an eco-responsible event organized by the APE Les P'tits Chagnoletais, the neighborhood school's parents' association. The event unfolds along the Grande Rue de Chagnolet, transformed for the occasion into a vast second-hand market.

A committed "green" concept

The ecological dimension is at the heart of this car boot sale. By encouraging the resale of second-hand items, the event is part of a reuse and circular economy approach. Between 100 and 200 sellers participate, offering clothes, toys, books, small furniture, and trinkets. The price is €4 per linear meter, with a 5th meter offered for the purchase of 4 meters.

The profits from the Green Car Boot Sale are fully reinvested to fund the educational projects of the Chagnolet school: school trips, educational materials, and activities for children. Food and drinks are available on site for visitors and sellers.
