Annual flea market in the heart of the village of Senneçay
Every June, the small village of Senneçay hosts its annual flea market in the Church Square, the nerve center of this Berry village located between Bourges and Châteauneuf-sur-Cher. Organized by the Comité des Fêtes de Senneçay, this popular event attracts bargain hunters from all over the south of the Cher department, looking for good deals and antique items.
Senneçay, a commune of 468 inhabitants nestled in the valleys of Berry, offers an authentic setting for this outdoor flea market. The village, served by the postal code 18340, is distinguished by its church and its stone houses typical of the rural architecture of Cher. The Church Square, the heart of communal life, is transformed for a day into a vast flea market where old furniture, country tableware, old tools, trinkets, and collector's items are found side by side.
The Grande Brocante de Senneçay is above all a moment of village conviviality. Volunteers from the Comité des Fêtes ensure the organization and offer a refreshment stand as well as a fast-food stand throughout the day. Exhibitors, both individuals and professionals, unpack their treasures from the early morning hours, offering early visitors the pleasure of discovery and negotiation.
The Grande Brocante de Senneçay takes place in June in the Church Square. Entry is free for visitors. For any information, contact the town hall of Senneçay at 02 48 25 32 91 or by email at [email protected].
