Grand flea market of Chabris with over 200 exhibitors, on the banks of the Cher in Berry
The Grande Brocante de Chabris brings together over 200 exhibitors each year in the streets of this commune located on the banks of the Cher, on the border between Indre and Loir-et-Cher. Professionals and individuals set up their stalls to offer antique furniture, trinkets, tableware, books, toys, tools, vinyl records, vintage clothing, and curiosities of all kinds. The scale of this flea market makes it one of the most important events in the north of Indre.
Chabris is a picturesque village of about 2,500 inhabitants, located at the confluence of the Cher and the Fouzon. The Saint-Christophe church, a listed historic monument, has a remarkable Romanesque porch bell tower. The village has retained its rural and peaceful character, with its narrow streets descending towards the river and its old bridge. The Cher valley here offers landscapes of great softness with its floodplains.
Chabris is located in the Champagne berrichonne, a vast cereal plain that occupies the north of Indre. This region of large-scale farming, dotted with villages with Romanesque bell towers, has a discreet and authentic charm. The vineyards of Valençay and Reuilly are nearby, adding a wine dimension to this day of bargain hunting on the banks of the Cher.
Chabris is located on the D956, 50 km north of Châteauroux and 30 km south of Romorantin. Signposted parking.
