The summer street sale of Pontarlier, a meeting place for bargains

Every summer, the streets of the city center of Pontarlier transform into a vast open-air market during the Grande Braderie d'Été. Organized by Commerce Pontarlier Centre, this major commercial event brings together more than 240 exhibitors: Pontarlier merchants who display their goods outside their shops and non-resident vendors from all over Haut-Doubs and Franche-Comté.

A festive and popular commercial event

From 8:30 AM to 6:30 PM, the residents of Pontarlier and visitors can stroll through the lively streets in search of bargains: seasonal clothing, accessories, sports equipment, shoes, home goods, books, and many other products at sale prices. Merchants take advantage of this day to clear their end-of-season stocks and attract a wider clientele beyond their usual customers.

Pontarlier, capital of Haut-Doubs

With its 18,000 inhabitants, Pontarlier is the main town in Haut-Doubs, nestled at an altitude of 838 meters in the Pontarlier valley, a few kilometers from the Swiss border. The summer street sale attracts visitors from neighboring towns on the Jura plateau, from Switzerland, and from the entire Doubs department, contributing to the liveliness of downtown commerce.
