The Chambéry Spring Grand Sale

The Spring Grand Sale is one of the major commercial events in Chambery, the historic capital of Savoie. Every spring, the city centre transforms into a vast open-air market where over 2,500 exhibitors offer bargains of all kinds: fashion, decoration, accessories, local produce, antiques and second-hand goods.

A major popular event

Organised by the UCA (Commerce and Craft Union) of Chambery, the Spring Grand Sale mobilises the entire commercial and associative fabric of the city. Permanent shopkeepers set up stalls on the pavements in front of their shops, offering end-of-line stock and exceptional promotions. Meanwhile, hundreds of private sellers and itinerant exhibitors deploy their stands in the adjoining streets.

Over 10,000 visitors expected

The reputation of the Chambery Grand Sale extends well beyond department borders. Over 10,000 visitors flock each year from across Savoie, Haute-Savoie, Isere and even Ain to enjoy this exceptional day.

Chambéry, a heritage jewel

The sale takes place in the historic streets of Chambery, from the famous Place Saint-Leger with its medieval arcades to the majestic Fountain of the Elephants, via cobbled lanes and colourful facades. The Chateau des Ducs de Savoie, perched above the old town, completes this exceptional architectural scene.
