Malakoff (92240) is a Hauts-de-Seine commune of around 31,000 residents, wedged between the 14th arrondissement of Paris to the north, Montrouge to the east, Châtillon to the south and Vanves to the west. Its compact 2.8 km² makes it one of the densest municipalities in metropolitan France. Malakoff has a strong working-class identity, reflected in Boulevard Camélinat, named after labour activist and Communard Zéphirin Camélinat.

The grand annual jumble sale, flagship of the municipal calendar

Malakoff's city-organised jumble sale is the leading brocante event on the municipal calendar. Held each late May on Rue Raymond-David and Boulevard Camélinat, it draws a large crowd of private sellers and visitors to these traffic-free streets. Registrations are managed by the Maison de la Vie Associative (MVA) — 5-6 May 2026 for the 2026 edition. Prices: 15 €/2m for Malakoff residents, 50 €/2m for non-residents. Maximum 2 pitches per seller. Adult private individuals only — professional dealers excluded. Wide range of second-hand items: clothes, toys, books, knick-knacks, furniture, crockery, vinyl records, vintage electronics. Free entry for visitors.
