The Grand Car Boot Sale of US Vaulx-en-Velin is one of the flagship events of the Union Sportive de Vaulx-en-Velin (USVV), a multi-sport club that brings together many sections (football, basketball, handball, athletics, etc.) and is a pillar of community life in Vaulx. This large-scale car boot sale mobilises volunteers and members for a day of browsing and conviviality. Sellers, of whom there are many, offer adult and children's clothing, toys, board games, books, records, knick-knacks, crockery and all manner of items at open prices. Proceeds contribute to funding sports activities for the commune's youth and equipping the various sections.

Vaulx-en-Velin, a dynamic city in eastern Lyon

Vaulx-en-Velin is a city of around 50,000 inhabitants located in the east of the Lyon metropolitan area, on the left bank of the Rhône. The second most populous city in the Rhône department after Lyon, it is known for its dynamism, youth and cultural diversity. Vaulx-en-Velin is home to the Vaulx-en-Velin Planetarium, one of the first in France, as well as the ENTPE technology campus. The city has an excellent public transport network with tramway T3 and several TCL bus lines, making it easy to reach central Lyon.
