Every year in spring, the Place de la Roubine and the port alleys of Viviers are transformed into a vast second-hand market. APEL Saint Régis — the Parents' Association of Saint Regis school — organizes this big annual car boot sale which has become one of the awaited events of the Ardèche calendar. The profits from the event are donated to the school and its activities, giving this event a festive and supportive dimension.

An exceptional site on the banks of the Rhône

Viviers is one of the most remarkable towns in Ardèche. Former religious capital of Vivarais, it houses the smallest active cathedral in France, the Saint-Vincent Cathedral, and a set of listed monuments that make it one of the heritage-protected cities in the region. The town is perched on a rocky outcrop overlooking the Rhône, a stone's throw from Montélimar and the Drôme provençale. It is in this southern and historical setting that the car boot sale is held every year, on the Place de la Roubine by the river.
