Grand car boot sale on August 15th in the streets of Malestroit and along the Nantes to Brest canal.
Every August 15th, the small characterful town of Malestroit comes alive with a grand car boot sale that takes over the village streets and extends along the Nantes to Brest canal. More than 150 exhibitors set up their stalls in this exceptional setting, between medieval houses and shaded banks.
A small characterful town in inland Morbihan, Malestroit charms with its remarkable medieval heritage: half-timbered houses with sculpted woodwork, washhouses, old market halls, and the Saint-Gilles church. Crossed by the Oust river and the Nantes to Brest canal, the town is a major hub for river navigation in Brittany. The August 15th car boot sale is the town's most popular summer event.
In the afternoon, open-air concerts liven up the event, creating a festive and relaxed atmosphere typical of Breton village festivals. The refreshment stand and food stalls complete this day of treasure hunting and conviviality.
