Grand Car Boot Sale of Essé

Every May, Essé (35150) hosts a grand car boot sale at the Municipal Stadium and on the adjacent grounds. With 400 exhibitors, the event is remarkable for a village of 1,200 inhabitants. The stalls offer clothing, toys, books, crockery, tools, trinkets, garden furniture, bicycles, and various objects. Bargain hunters come from Janzé, Retiers, Vitré, and even Rennes to take advantage of this car boot sale renowned for its atmosphere and the quality of its finds.

Essé is located in the heart of the Pays de la Roche-aux-Fées, a territory named after the famous dolmen de la Roche-aux-Fées, one of the largest megalithic monuments in France, located in the neighboring commune.
