The Gerbéviller Car Boot Sale: A Treasure Hunting Tradition in Lorraine

Every year in June, the Familles Rurales association of Gerbéviller organizes its grand car boot sale on the old road to Moyen. This event, in its 22nd edition in 2026, has become an eagerly awaited gathering for bargain hunters in the Lunéville area. Hundreds of visitors come to hunt for toys, clothes, crockery, books, and second-hand items at low prices in a friendly and family atmosphere.

Gerbéviller, City of Gardens

Gerbéviller is a small town in Meurthe-et-Moselle nestled in the Mortagne valley, about ten kilometers south of Lunéville. Nicknamed the "City of Gardens" thanks to its remarkable gardens of the Torniel castle, this commune with its rich historical heritage was heavily marked by the destruction of World War I, earning it the nickname "martyred city." Curious visitors can take advantage of the car boot sale to discover the castle ruins and the charm of this Lorraine town.

A Popular and Well-Organized Car Boot Sale

The car boot sale stretches along the old road to Moyen, offering a practical linear layout for visitors who can easily browse all the stalls. Private individuals and professional exhibitors set up from 6 am at a rate of 2.50 euros per linear meter. Coffee is offered free of charge to exhibitors to start the day well. Food and drinks, managed by the association's volunteers, allow visitors to eat on site throughout the day. Toilets are also available.

An Event Supporting Local Community Life

The profits from the car boot sale contribute to the financing of the many activities offered by the Familles Rurales association of Gerbéviller throughout the year: family outings, sports activities, workshops, and entertainment for children.
