The Free'p Espenéloise is an original event organized in Saou by l'Espenéloise, a local association active in the cultural and social life of the village. Inspired by the concept of "free party" or "free market," this gathering aims to be convivial, participatory, and accessible to all, with a dimension of sharing and exchange around second-hand goods. April 4 and 5, 2026, will mark a new edition of this popular spring event for residents and visitors of the region.

Saou and its national forest, an exceptional natural setting

Saou is a village of about a hundred inhabitants nestled at the entrance to the Saou national forest, a remarkable protected natural site in the Drôme. This forest, located in a spectacular limestone syncline that geologists call the "Saou chest," is one of the wildest and most beautiful natural areas in the Drôme des collines. The limestone cliffs, ancient beech trees, and views over the Drôme plain make it a magical place.

The Free'p it organizes is designed as a convivial exchange space: second-hand objects, books, clothes, and various items are sold, bought, given away, or swapped. The spirit is that of a solidarity and festive flea market, rooted in the values of the circular economy and social connection.
