Village bargain hunting in the Santerre
The Santerre, that Picard plateau south-east of Amiens, is a land of vast agricultural plains and villages grouped around their church. Framerville-Rainecourt illustrates this: a rural commune from the grouping of two villages, it preserves a strong farming and community identity.
With thirty exhibitors, the event stays in the village register. No urban crowds: time to stroll, examine items, chat with exhibitors. Mostly residents emptying their attics: clothing, shoes, toys, books, comics, crockery, small appliances, knick-knacks.
In many Picard communes, rue de l'Église is the main street. Holding the flea market here makes sense: it's where daily village life passes.
A rural commune in the Péronne district, in the heart of the Santerre. Marked by great crops and the fighting of World War I. Today, life revolves around agriculture, associations and events like this one.
An opportunity to discover a lesser-known corner of the Somme. Combine with war memorials or nearby villages. Bring cash, arrive early, chat with exhibitors.
Framerville-Rainecourt is near the A29 motorway, between Amiens and Saint-Quentin. Street parking.
