Every November 11th, Saint-Martin's Day, the town of Noé perpetuates its centuries-old tradition by hosting its fair and car boot sale on the Abolin esplanade. Organized by the association Noé en Fête, this event combines the tradition of the Saint-Martin fair, once an agricultural and commercial market, with a popular car boot sale that attracts bargain hunters from all over Volvestre and the south of Toulouse.
Saint-Martin fairs are an ancestral tradition in southwestern France. November 11th, Saint-Martin's Day, historically coincided with the renewal of rural leases and the last major agricultural transactions before winter. In Noé, this tradition continues in a renewed form, blending the modern car boot sale with the spirit of gathering and exchange that characterized the fairs of yesteryear.
The Abolin esplanade, a large outdoor space in the heart of Noé, hosts the car boot sale stalls. From 8 am to 5 pm, private exhibitors offer clothes, toys, books, crockery, trinkets, tools, furniture, and various items at negotiable prices. The esplanade offers a pleasant and open space, facilitating visitor circulation between the numerous stalls.
The association Noé en Fête, the town's festival committee, is the pillar of the organization of this event. Its volunteers ensure the management of pitches, the reception of exhibitors and visitors, as well as the refreshment and catering on site. For registrations and information, the association can be reached by email at [email protected].
