Car boot sale, auto-moto-agricultural fair, mechanical rodeo and accordion on the Velay plateau
Saint-Jean-Lachalm is a peaceful village on the Velay plateau, nestled about 15 km from Le Puy-en-Velay on a high volcanic plateau at over 1,000 meters altitude. Every last Sunday of April, this village comes alive exceptionally to host the Foire de la Miramande, a popular event that combines rural traditions, festive entertainment, and collective good cheer.
The fair starts at 5:30 am for exhibitors to set up, and the gates open to the public at 8:00 am. The day runs until 6:30 pm, offering many hours to enjoy all the entertainment. On the program:
True to its origins as a rural fair, the Miramande also hosts a cattle sale, recalling the fairs of yesteryear that punctuated the agricultural life of the plateau. Local producers are present to showcase the riches of the Haute-Loire terroir.
A meal is offered on-site, prepared by a local caterer. Reservation is recommended to enjoy lunch in good conditions. Admission to the fair is completely free, and exhibitor spaces are available free of charge upon prior reservation.
