The fair of plants, flowers and local products of Guissény, organized by Skoazell Diwan to support bilingual Breton education
Every April, Skoazell Diwan organizes its Plant and Flower Fair at the Fontaine Saint-Gildas in Guissény (29880). Flowers, indoor and outdoor plants, shrubs, fruit trees, vegetable plants, local crafts and regional products. Entrance fee €1 (free for under 16s). Children's entertainment: ponies, face painting, inflatable structures.
Every year in April, the town of Guissény (29880) lights up with colors and scents for a day dedicated to plants, flowers, and local products. The Plant and Flower Fair, organized by the association Skoazell Diwan, is held at the Fontaine Saint-Gildas, a remarkable heritage site in the town, in a bucolic and green setting.
The event brings together horticultural exhibitors and local artisans who offer a wide range of plants: potted and container flowers, indoor and outdoor plants, shrubs and fruit trees, vegetable plants (tomatoes, salads, cucurbits...), strawberry and berry plants, aromatic and medicinal plants. Gardening enthusiasts will find what they need to prepare their spring plantings.
The fair is not limited to plants. Local producers and artisans offer their creations and products: honey, cheeses, craft beers, jams, textile creations, and decorative objects. It's an opportunity to discover or rediscover the know-how of producers from North Finistère and to support the local economy.
The day is filled with numerous activities, especially for children: pony rides, face painting workshops, and inflatable structures. This family-friendly aspect contributes to the event's popular success, attracting families from all over the Pays de Lesneven each year.
Admission is €1 for individuals over 16 years old (free for those under). The rental of an exhibition space is €1 per linear meter with mandatory reservation. The event runs from 9 am to 5 pm.
Skoazell Diwan is an association supporting Diwan schools (a network of schools with immersive Breton language pedagogy). The profits from the fair help finance the activities of Diwan schools in the area, thus contributing to the transmission of Breton language and culture.
On April 5, 2026, the Skoazell Diwan Plant and Flower Fair returns to the Fontaine Saint-Gildas in Guissény. Flowers, plants, shrubs, local products, and entertainment for children, from 9 am to 5 pm.
