Annual large car boot sale in July organized by FC Baie de l'Orne, 200 to 300 exhibitors
Every first Sunday in July, the place called Le Plain in Amfreville hosts a large car boot sale bringing together between 200 and 300 exhibitors. Organized by FC Baie de l'Orne, the local football club, this event has become a must-attend for bargain hunters in Calvados.
Amfreville is a commune located east of Ouistreham, on the left bank of the Orne estuary. This area, marked by the fighting of June 6, 1944 and the capture of Pegasus Bridge by British paratroopers, is at the junction of the Côte de Nacre coastline and the Caen countryside. The place called Le Plain offers a vast outdoor space to host this large event.
Registration is mandatory. Registration sessions are held every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Amfreville football stadium, starting mid-May. The price is €5 per linear meter, with a minimum of 4 linear meters depending on the vehicle size. Entry is free for visitors.
FC Baie de l'Orne provides refreshments and food on site, with sandwiches, grills, and drinks. The profits from the event contribute to the operation of the local football club.
From Caen, take the D515 towards Ouistreham then follow the signs for Amfreville via the D514 (approx. 20 minutes). From Ouistreham, follow the signs for Amfreville (5 minutes).
