Spring fair in the village of Corneville-sur-Risle on the banks of the Risle, in this Norman village made famous by its operetta
Corneville-sur-Risle is a Norman village in the Eure department whose fame extends far beyond its borders thanks to the operetta Les Cloches de Corneville, created in 1877 and whose popularity has crossed generations. It is in this setting steeped in history and rural romanticism that the Foire à tout de Corneville-sur-Risle is held every spring.
The Risle is one of the major Norman rivers, crossing the Eure department from south to north before flowing into the Seine near Pont-Audemer. Its green valley offers an ideal setting for this fair, which brings together individuals and flea market enthusiasts in May. Exhibitors offer clothing, furniture, trinkets, toys, and antique objects in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.
Like many village fairs in rural Normandy, the Corneville-sur-Risle event is organized by local associations to liven up the village and create social connections. These events are essential to the life of small rural communities in the Eure and help maintain local dynamism.
Corneville-sur-Risle is located about 5 km south of Pont-Audemer, on the D139. From Pont-Audemer, follow the signs for Corneville-sur-Risle. From Rouen (60 km), take the A13 motorway, exit at Beuzeville, then join Pont-Audemer and Corneville.
Free parking in the usual village spaces.
