The patronal festival of the perched village above the gorges
On 24 June, Châteaudouble celebrates its Saint-Jean-Baptiste patronal festival. In August, the village festival extends the season with great aïoli and pétanque tournament. Two traditional highlights in this perched Haut-Var village clinging above the Nartuby gorges.
Châteaudouble is one of the Var's most spectacular villages: perched at 560 metres altitude on a rocky spur, it dominates the vertiginous gorges of the Nartuby.
Saint-Jean-Baptiste 2026 will be celebrated on Wednesday 24 June in Châteaudouble: mass, procession, traditional fire. The August village festival will feature great aïoli and pétanque tournament.
