La Villedieu-du-Clain, Clain valley village

About 3,000 inhabitants 15 km south of Poitiers on the Clain. Part of Grand Poitiers since recent mergers. The name "Villedieu" comes from a medieval religious foundation (probably Hospitaller or Templar commandery). Traditional farming village that kept its rural character while approaching the agglomeration.

Saturday 27 June 2026 Summer Fête with flea market is a flagship of the communal community calendar. The "fête" format includes, beyond hunting: musical entertainment, on-site catering, kids' games, charity stands, sometimes fireworks or evening dance. A complete event gathering the whole population.
