Every year on the last Sunday of September, the municipality of Auneau-Bleury-Saint-Symphorien (28700) celebrates the Fête de la Saint-Côme, one of the most anticipated popular events in the region. This traditional festival combines a giant car boot sale, a funfair, cultural and craft activities in a festive and family atmosphere that brings together residents and visitors from all over the department.

A giant car boot sale at the heart of the festival

The giant car boot sale is the central attraction of the Saint-Côme festival. The streets and squares of Auneau are transformed into a huge open-air flea market where private and professional sellers offer a multitude of items: furniture, books, crockery, clothing, toys, vinyl records, tools, and curiosities of all kinds. Registrations for exhibitors open at the beginning of September, first for residents of the streets concerned, then for everyone.

Funfair, games, and entertainment for all

Alongside the car boot sale, a funfair is set up on the Champ de Foire for the enjoyment of young and old. Free inflatable games for children, street entertainment with musicians and artists, and creative and culinary workshops complete the program. The ARTESSENCE association also offers a fair of artisans and creators in the town hall hall, allowing visitors to discover the work of many local craftspeople.

A book sale and workshops

The Fête de la Saint-Côme also features a book sale and themed workshops for participants of all ages. The 2025 edition had the theme "a journey around the world", offering a cultural and educational dimension to this festive day. Cooking workshops, creative activities for children, and musical entertainment punctuated the day.

Registrations for car boot sale exhibitors should be made with the town hall of Auneau-Bleury-Saint-Symphorien. The first spots are reserved for residents of the market streets, before being opened to all exhibitors.
