Flea market and Apple Festival in October in the Risle valley, celebration of Norman cider traditions
The Apple Festival of Nassandres-sur-Risle is an emblematic autumn event in the Risle valley, in the Eure department. In October, during the apple harvest in Norman orchards, the commune celebrates this age-old tradition with activities, pressing demonstrations, cider and calvados tastings, and of course its large flea market.
The flea market is held alongside the Apple Festival, offering visitors a day rich in discoveries. Private and professional sellers offer flea market items, car boot sale items, and antiques in a festive atmosphere, accompanied by musical entertainment and the aromas of the autumn harvest.
Nassandres-sur-Risle is a new commune in the Eure department, formed by the merger of several communes in the Risle valley. This area between Brionne and Pont-Audemer is a land of hedgerows, orchards, and wet meadows, typical of Upper Normandy. The Risle, a peaceful and fish-filled river, flows through this postcard-like Norman landscape.
The Apple Festival and Flea Market of Nassandres-sur-Risle is the major autumn event in the Risle valley. Families, bargain hunters, and lovers of Norman traditions gather for this day that celebrates both the agricultural and artisanal heritage of Normandy and the conviviality of rural fairs.
