Flea market and collectibles at the heart of the great Bar-sur-Seine agricultural fair
The 102nd Agricultural and Wine Fair of Bar-sur-Seine, organized by the SAVB (Société Agricole de la Vallée du Barséquanais), hosts a Flea Market & Collectibles section each April in the streets of the town center. Open to professionals and local collectors, this dedicated area is set up on Rue des Frères Moreau and Rue de la Poste from 7:30 AM. The main fair, one of the most important in the Aube department, combines agricultural stands, wine-making equipment, entertainment, and demonstrations with this market for antiques and collectibles, for two festive days in the heart of the Côte des Bar.
Every April, the small town of Bar-sur-Seine, a wine-growing heart of the Côte des Bar in Champagne, transforms for a weekend to host its grand agricultural and wine fair. For its 102nd edition, the event brings together agricultural exhibitors, winegrowers, artisans, and local merchants, but also – and this is what interests us here – flea market and collectibles enthusiasts, gathered in a dedicated section at the core of the event.
The Flea Market & Collectibles Section of the Bar-sur-Seine Fair takes place on Rue des Frères Moreau and Rue de la Poste, in immediate proximity to the former town hall. Open from 7:30 AM, it welcomes professional exhibitors and local collectors offering antique furniture, tableware, collectible items, tools, books, and trinkets in a lively and friendly atmosphere. The open-air setting, in the cobbled streets of the Bar-sur-Seine town center, adds to the charm of the event.
The Agricultural and Wine Fair of Bar-sur-Seine is one of the oldest and most important in the Aube department. Organized for over a century by the SAVB (Société Agricole de la Vallée du Barséquanais), it brings together farmers, winegrowers, breeders, artisans, and merchants around a rich program of demonstrations, competitions, and entertainment. The wine section, dedicated to Champagne production and the wines of the Côte des Bar, is particularly renowned. The MANI VITI competition attracts the best local winemakers each year, while young farmers (J.A.) run numerous educational stands.
Nestled in the Seine valley, about thirty kilometers south of Troyes, Bar-sur-Seine is a town steeped in history and wine traditions. Its medieval center, its Saint-Étienne church with remarkable Renaissance stained glass windows, and its Champagne cellars make it a must-visit stop on the Champagne Route. The annual fair has perpetuated for over a century the deep bond that unites the town with its agricultural and wine-growing territory. For flea market enthusiasts, it offers an exceptional setting, between authentic half-timbered houses and cobbled alleys.
The event takes place over two days, on the Saturday and Sunday of the second week of April. The Flea Market & Collectibles section opens from 7:30 AM. Entry is free for visitors. Exhibitors can register with the SAVB before March 10th. Exhibitor fee: €5 per linear meter (two-day rate). Coffee is offered to exhibitors upon arrival.
