Annual car boot sale in the village of Ars-sur-Formans, famous home of the Curé d'Ars
Ars-sur-Formans, a village world-renowned for the Curé d'Ars and his sanctuary, hosts an open-air car boot sale on the first Sunday of September. Individuals set up in the village to offer clothes, toys, books, and second-hand items. The event is friendly and family-oriented, with free entry and refreshments available on site.
Ars-sur-Formans is a village in the Ain department, world-renowned as a pilgrimage site dedicated to Saint Jean-Marie Vianney, the famous Curé d'Ars. Every first Sunday of September, the village also comes alive for a farfouille (car boot sale) that attracts bargain hunters from the region.
The farfouille takes place in the village center, near the sanctuary and the basilica. The exhibitors, exclusively individuals, offer a wide range of second-hand items: clothes, toys, books, tableware, trinkets, and small furniture. The atmosphere is family-friendly and relaxed.
Located about twenty kilometers north of Lyon, Ars-sur-Formans lies between the Dombes region and the Val de Saône. The village retains a rural and authentic charm despite its international fame. The farfouille is the ideal opportunity to discover this unique village in a friendly and popular setting.
Refreshments are available on site by the organizers. Entry is free for visitors.
