Spring rendezvous in the heart of the Yvelines Vexin
The Civry-la-Forêt flea market is a small annual event organized in the center of this rural community of the Yvelines Vexin, around the town hall. In a preserved village setting, private vendors and a few professionals offer bargain hunters trinkets, dishware, clothes, books and small furniture. A human-scale event ideal for a morning of bargain hunting in the countryside, near the Rambouillet forest and the Eure valley.
Every spring, Civry-la-Forêt welcomes its annual flea market around the town hall and the heart of the village. A small rural community in Yvelines located on the borders of the Vexin and Beauce regions, Civry-la-Forêt is nothing like a fair town but its spring event always has its regulars. Organized in partnership with the town hall and a local association, the event brings together a few dozen exhibitors who take advantage of the good weather to empty attics and outbuildings.
Here, there are no huge anonymous aisles or a majority of professionals: the Civry-la-Forêt flea market is above all a friendly moment where neighbors and visitors share bargain hunting tips and anecdotes. You find the usual bric-a-brac of village flea markets: antique dishware, household linen, children's toys, books, tools, small furniture and sometimes a few beautiful pieces unearthed from barns. The atmosphere is quiet and visitors happily take the time to chat with exhibitors.
The village of Civry-la-Forêt, which shares its 78910 postal code with several small neighboring villages, is one of those preserved rural Yvelines towns. It is located a few kilometers from Houdan and the Eure valley, in a wooded area alternating forests, cultivated fields and meadows. Walkers can extend their day by visiting the Houdan keep, the French Vexin landscapes or the surroundings of Septeuil and Orgerus.
The Civry-la-Forêt flea market does not have the fame of major Yvelines events like those of Versailles or Saint-Germain-en-Laye, but that is precisely its charm: visitors come to browse calmly, please their children, or find an original piece for an intimate collection. For bargain hunters who prefer small country events, it is a perfect stop on the Yvelines spring calendar.
