The annual bargain hunt in the heart of a Vimeu village
Every June, Cerisy-Buleux offers its annual vide-grenier and flea market, a much-awaited event for bargain hunters of the Vimeu and surrounding area. Set up in the village centre, this rural event combines amateur bargain hunting and Picard good humour. Private sellers from the village and surrounding communes empty attics, cellars and outbuildings to offer visitors a fine selection of finds in a friendly atmosphere.
The annual Cerisy-Buleux vide-grenier takes place in the village centre, transforming the main streets and square into a vast open-air bargain-hunting route. This configuration, typical of rural Somme flea markets, promotes visitor circulation between stalls.
Cerisy-Buleux is a small commune of around 350 inhabitants resulting from the merger of two former villages, located in the Vimeu, this natural region of south-western Somme known for its industrial tradition and rolling landscapes.
As in most village vide-greniers, the offering at Cerisy-Buleux reflects the daily life of the inhabitants: family crockery, household linen, clothes, toys, books, trinkets, small furniture, tools.
The organisation of the Cerisy-Buleux vide-grenier relies on the commitment of volunteers from the local association. Proceeds are often destined to finance village activities.
The Cerisy-Buleux vide-grenier can be combined with the discovery of the Vimeu, a discreet but endearing territory. The locksmithing and tap-making museums at Friville-Escarbotin bear witness to the rich industrial past.
