The Viglain Carnival Car Boot Sale

Every March, the small village of Viglain (45600) comes alive for its traditional carnival. Organized by the Parents' Association (APE), this event combines carnival festivities and a car boot sale in a popular and family-friendly atmosphere. The event is growing in success year after year, attracting more and more exhibitors and visitors.

A double festive event

The day is divided into two parts: the morning is dedicated to the car boot sale, during which exhibitors and visitors take over the village streets to sell and buy second-hand items, clothes, toys, and trinkets. In the afternoon, at 3 PM, the grand carnival parade crosses the village in a colorful and joyful atmosphere, with floats, costumes, and music. Children and families are in for a treat.

Viglain, an endearing Sologne village

Viglain is a village of about 700 inhabitants located in the heart of Sologne, between forests and ponds, about fifteen kilometers east of Sully-sur-Loire. Its preserved natural setting and dynamic community life make Viglain an endearing village. The carnival is one of the year's flagship events, mobilizing residents, parents, and local associations.

The role of the APE

The Parents' Association of Viglain is behind this annual event. The profits from the car boot sale contribute to the financing of extracurricular activities and school trips for the children. Participating in this event therefore also means supporting the education and leisure of the village's children.
