The little village car boot sale in the heart of northern Isère
Each year, the Sou des Écoles de Soleymieu organizes a car boot sale in this small village in northern Isère. With about thirty exhibitors, it is a human-sized event that perfectly reflects the spirit of small rural communities in Isère where every associative event is a moment of sharing and conviviality.
Soleymieu is a village of about 1,100 inhabitants located in the rolling countryside of northern Isère, between the medieval towns of Crémieu and La Tour-du-Pin. This rural area, rich in heritage and landscapes, offers a peaceful setting for this village car boot sale. Visitors can take the opportunity to discover the surroundings, especially the nearby medieval town of Crémieu.
The Sou des Écoles is a parents' association that works to improve the daily lives of schoolchildren in Soleymieu. The profits from the car boot sale finance school trips, shows, and extracurricular activities. By participating in this event, visitors contribute directly to the school life of the village.
With its thirty or so exhibitors, the Soleymieu car boot sale offers an intimate and relaxed treasure hunting experience. No crowds or jostling, but the pleasure of browsing the stalls at a leisurely pace, chatting with the sellers, and taking the time to look at each item. This is the very essence of a village flea market, a world away from large commercial fairs.
