Annual rummage sale of the Sou des Écoles in the village of Brion, at the gates of Bugey
The Sou des Écoles de Brion organizes its car boot sale every year, also called farfouille in the local tradition, on the last Saturday of May. This event takes place in the center of the village of Brion, a small commune in the Ain department located at the gates of Bugey, halfway between Bourg-en-Bresse and Nantua.
The Sou des Écoles is an association of volunteer parents who work throughout the year to enrich the school life of Brion's children. The profits from the rummage sale help finance school trips, shows, and educational activities. Volunteers provide refreshments and food throughout the event.
Brion is a small rural commune in the Ain department, located on the border between the Bresse plain and the first foothills of Bugey. The village offers a preserved natural setting, between forests and meadows, with views of the Jura mountains. The commune is crossed by the Ain river, a wild river that delights fishermen and nature lovers.
From Bourg-en-Bresse, take the D1084 towards Nantua then turn off towards Brion (approximately 25 minutes). From Ambérieu-en-Bugey, follow the D12 north towards Brion.
Free parking in the village.
Refreshments and food on site provided by the volunteers of the Sou des Écoles.
