Bellegarde-en-Forez, a commune in the Forez plain between Montrond-les-Bains and Saint-Galmier, hosts the Sou des Écoles car boot sale every spring. This annual event is one of the most important in the commune, with up to 200 exhibitors set up in the village streets.

Individuals set up their stalls from 6 am in the streets of Bellegarde. You can find everything: crockery, toys, clothes, books, trinkets, small furniture, and various objects. Prices are generally very attractive, much to the delight of early morning bargain hunters.

To benefit the schools

All profits are donated to the Sou des Écoles Publiques to fund the students' outings and educational activities. A refreshment stand and food stall run by volunteers complete this friendly day.
