The Car Boot Sale of Moustier-Ventadour

At the end of May, the small village of Moustier-Ventadour hosts a friendly car boot sale in its streets and around the village hall. This village of about 150 inhabitants, part of the canton of Égletons, is dominated by the majestic ruins of Ventadour castle, a medieval fortress perched on a rocky outcrop that was the birthplace of the viscounts of Ventadour.

A Car Boot Sale at the Foot of the Castle

The car boot sale brings together about twenty private sellers who set up their stalls in the village. Trinkets, antique tableware, books, clothes, toys, and tools make up the varied offer of this small second-hand market. The exceptional setting of the village, with views of the castle ruins and the Luzège valley, gives this day of treasure hunting a unique atmosphere.

Ventadour Castle

Ventadour castle, a listed historic monument, is one of the most remarkable medieval sites in Corrèze. Its imposing ruins overlook the confluence of the Luzège and the Soudalier. Legend has it that the troubadour Bernard de Ventadour, one of the greatest poets of Occitan literature, was born there in the 12th century.
